Write to d_jurma@yahoo.com. Toss is made by one person, so a reply usually takes one or two working days, and never more than five.
This page describes Toss 1.0.0 for macOS.
It helps if you say which version of macOS you are on, and what you were dragging when it went wrong.
Common questions
The shelf does not appear when I start a drag
Open Toss → Settings → Shelf and switch on Show the shelf when a drag starts.
If it is already on, check the option below it: Only while holding ⇧ Shift. When that is on, the shelf waits until you hold Shift. It is there for people who drag text around all day and do not want the shelf every time.
The shelf is gone. How do I get it back?
Press ⌃⌥⌘T. That shows and hides the shelf from anywhere.
You can also click the Toss icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
I deleted an item. Can I get it back?
No. It is gone.
Toss keeps one copy of each item, not two. Removing the item deletes that copy at once, and it does not go to the Trash first. This is on purpose: a shelf that quietly kept a second copy of everything you dropped would be a worse thing to trust.
Which version of macOS do I need?
macOS 26 or newer. Toss runs on Apple Silicon and on Intel Macs.
How do I move the shelf to the other side of the screen?
Open Toss → Settings → Shelf and change Screen edge to Left or Right.
Where does Toss keep my things?
On your Mac, in its own sandbox folder:
~/Library/Containers/com.danieljurma.toss/Data/Library/Application Support/Toss
Nothing is uploaded anywhere. See the privacy policy for the full account.
Privacy
Toss collects nothing about you. No account, no analytics, no telemetry, no server. The privacy policy says exactly what that means, including the two moments Toss touches the network.
Bugs and ideas
Send both to d_jurma@yahoo.com. A short description of what you expected and what happened instead is enough.
